Confusingly, it doesn’t have anything to do with your town’s marketplace. Instead, as the name implies, it’s about wealth instead of just money and that wealth comes from either exporting surplus goods or just from upgrading burgage plots. Once you have a building built, you have to hit the plus button to assign a family to work there. This takes one of the unassigned families and makes them dedicated to working at that building. Think of burgage plots as mixed-used zoning where your town’s families will build houses and workshops. A flat design is a minimalistic style, sticking to a two-dimensional layout inspired by the Swiss style.

How do I use the floor plan creator?

One of the ways designers create these categories of websites is by using a unique flat design that uses simple, two-dimensional shapes. The image assets included with these layouts (icons, illustrations, photos, etc.) have no licensing restrictions. This means you can use them in all of your commercial projects without having to worry about paying licensing fees or attributing the photographer.

Easy Collaboration

Packed with powerful features to meet all your floor plan and home design needs. Tailoring your floor plan to your specific needs is a breeze with archiplain. Adjust wall thickness to match the materials you plan to use, and change the color of each element with ease. Imagine coloring your water-centric areas like bathrooms and kitchens in serene blue hues or infusing your bedrooms with bold reds—all achievable within our intuitive editor.

You’ll need a livestock trader, a sheep farm, and a weaver’s workshop at a minimum. But each part of that process requires a family to be assigned to the building(s), and families require burgage plots to live on. Animations and bold colors are the site's consistent design elements, engaging users with their quality display. Use Fotor's invitation maker online to produce beautifully designed invitations with a minimal budget!

All classes use the Blackboard learning system and most use a combination of theory and practice (hands-on work).

Elizabeth Lin’s portfolio provides another excellent example of storytelling. Just like Moritz, she presents her design work in the form of case studies, documenting her process from start to finish. Elizabeth Lin is a San Francisco-based product designer and self-proclaimed fashion, teaching, and classical saxophone enthusiast. Write about the methods you used, what you learned along the way, the challenges you came up against, and how you solved certain problems. Click on any one of these case studies and you almost feel like you’re in the room with Moritz himself—a fly-on-the-wall as he works through his UX design process.

With black and white images projected onto a backdrop of cartridge paper, Hoàng Kỳ Phong’s portfolio has a classic feel. After what feels like a serious offering, Aleyna offers something of a UX visual joke at the end of her portfolio, including a fake loading page, before bidding us farewell. If in doubt, build a logical narrative showing how a problem was understood, defined, and solved.

UX Designer Portfolio Examples: A Beginner's Guide

UX designer salaries in California vary dramatically according to the experience level of the designer. According to data from Glassdoor, the average base salary for a UX designer in the state is around $103,000 per year. This average comprises $84,000 base pay and $19,000 in bonuses and other additional payments. Before diving into these variables, let’s take a look at the average salary for UX designers in the area. The salary of a UX designer in the state of California will vary depending on different factors, such as the designer’s experience, location, and the size and type of company they work for.

Craft a compelling headline that provides all the most important information at a glance. Besides crafting a gripping “about me” statement, try to inject a bit of personality into the visual design, too—just like Gloria’s colorful hover effect. Gloria has nailed her designer introduction with a three-tiered approach.

As an Information Architect, you will constantly stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in information design, enabling you to create user-friendly and intuitive interfaces. You will also have the chance to improve your problem-solving skills and contribute to the overall user experience strategy. Working at a web design company will expose you to a variety of projects and clients, allowing you to work on different types of websites and applications.

The list below outlines a few 100-percent online, self-paced programs that you can use to expand your UX design skills and bulk up your portfolio. Tammy presents her case study as a slidedeck that lays out the challenge and the four steps of her design process. She also discusses how she would test and iterate with more resources, giving her interviewers a preview of the value she’d bring to the company. Just because you’ve never completed UX design work for a paying client doesn’t mean you have to apply for your first job with an empty portfolio. These seven types of UX case studies make excellent portfolio material for UX designers looking to get their start in the industry.

Entry Level UX Designer Jobs to Kickstart Your Career

Early on in your UX journey, you may not have a ton of design work to include in your portfolio. But as you take classes, participate in hackathons, and work through passion projects, your collection of materials will start to grow. Another way to add real client work to your UX portfolio is to complete one or two small projects pro bono. Perhaps there’s a non-profit organization, school, or small business in your community that could use a website or app redesign. After the event, Yang even added an illustration showing how the app would bridge the gap between user experience and business value based on feedback from hackathon judges.

Charts and graphics displaying her skills and experience are so simple they appear iconic. There are two very simple yet effective takeaways to be had from Vera’s portfolio. First and foremost, provide plenty of background context—this works wonders when telling the story of each case study. Daniel has opted to showcase four projects in his UX portfolio, and while we’re not saying that he’s found THE magic number, it is a magic number of sorts. For example, creating a more pleasant app experience for the user should help to boost customer retention.

User experience (UX) design is a process that design teams use to design products for optimal use and function. UX designers are responsible for providing users with a good experience, and they do this by improving the way humans and machines interact. UX design is not only limited to websites and mobile applications, but also includes products such as printers and coffee machines. Shu Jiang, a product designer at Google, includes an excellent example of an unsolicited redesign of the app Houzz in her portfolio. She starts by outlining the challenge she set for herself, then walks through the steps of her design process, with plenty of images to document her work.

They teach students how to think like a UXer, how to conduct user research, how to create wireframes and prototypes, user personas, and other key UX processes and deliverables. These programs are typically shorter; the non-accredited versions of these often come with some degree of job preparation or career guidance as well. An unsolicited redesign (sometimes called an uninvited redesign) is an excellent way to show off your skills before you ever land your first job as a UX designer.

However, one focus does tend to dominate the focus of the curriculum and vision of individual programs. So it’s good to have an idea of what you want your learning to be geared toward. If you’re a person who places high value on the formality and (sometimes) prestige of an academically accredited education, you might want to focus on programs through accredited universities. If you want to add to your knowledge and experience, you can also choose from the institute’s specialization courses in user research, content design, visual design, or coding basics. It’s not clear whether these can be added to your enrollment in the UX design course or if it is a separate enrollment. This program is fairly unique in the market for its clear and dedicated focus on connecting interaction design and social entrepreneurship.

Their work is applicable on all digital devices and also involves 3D design. The skills of a digital designer are used to define the end users’ digital experience which is useful for roles with a direct focus on user experience. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, developers, and product managers to ensure the words and visuals work in harmony to deliver a seamless user experience. This cross-functional collaboration will allow you to gain a deeper understanding of the UX design process and develop your skills in working within a team.

Instruction methods and feedback will likely vary from one instructor to the next—but this can be useful in learning to adapt to various work situations. As with any traditional academic program, there’s a set course of study with flexibility in your electives. It’s possible to take some courses online, but it might be necessary to relocate for in person classes. This is a top-notch program that’s more affordable than it’s legacy cousins (Stanford, Rutgers, Harvard, etc.) and therefore worth mentioning. The classes are small, so you’re likely to have plenty of face-time with your teachers. The best part about learning at EntryLevel is the amazing and vibrant community that comes along with your training aid.

This collaborative environment will give you the freedom to experiment, iterate, and push the boundaries of design. Working at a digital agency will expose you to a wide range of projects, each with its own unique set of challenges. This experience will help you develop a deep understanding of different industries and user needs, as well as expand your portfolio with diverse design solutions. While this may be an entry-level position, it is important to approach it with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Take advantage of the mentorship and guidance provided by more experienced team members, and use this opportunity to refine your skills and expand your knowledge in UX design.

She doesn’t just talk about the “user” problem—she frames it as “our” problem, inviting the reader to step into the user’s shoes, just as she has done. Another effective storytelling technique that Elizabeth uses is to include little bitesized notes and reflections down the right-hand side. Each point in her case study is illustrated with some kind of visual element—be it a virtual wall of Post-it notes, a survey form that was sent to research participants, or early-stage prototypes. What really stands out in Elizabeth’s portfolio, though, is her use of visuals to support the narrative she’s weaving. Each project is presented as a case study, which immediately tells us we’re in for a lot more than just eye candy. Moritz studied UX design with CareerFoundry and is now part of the Global Goals Curriculum 2030 team, helping to shape a democratic, just, and sustainable society through the power of education.

We love great music, great people, and great drinks at The Pour House Music Hall & Record Shop. Pie Face Girls, a self-proclaimed “angry band,” are local to Raleigh, NC. Everything from their origins as a band to the musical backgrounds of some of the members, to their on-stage antics makes them a textbook example of everything a punk rock band should be.

The environment is friendly and suits about 100 fans. On the first floor, it has some bench seating and a few tables and barstools arranged closer to the bar area. Last Sun., The Pour House Music Hall hosted a few of the many musicians that came to Raleigh for Hopscotch Music Festival 2013. The venue held an after-party that brought together area bands like The Chit Nasty Band and Nuclear Honey to rock the stage. The Pour House Music Hall, located in the Moore Square Art District in downtown Raleigh, has brought together great musicians from all over N.C.

The city of Raleigh does not allow trailers to park on the street. If you do not have a trailer or a dual axle on your vehicle, park on the street or in one of the decks next to the venue. If you do have a trailer, we will direct you to parking when you arrive. It’s only a few blocks up the street.

Styling Mousse vs. Styling Lotion: Which Is Best For Your Client’s Fine, Normal, or Coarse Hair?

I’ve been using this shampoo and conditioner for more than six years, and it has done wonders at repairing my brittle and fraying strands. The shampoo has a great lather, and a little goes a long way. My bottles would last me months in comparison to other brands. After rinsing it out my hair doesn’t feel stripped, and all the build-up from products was cleared — I didn’t even need to double cleanse. It’s incredibly soft, tangle-free, and super moisturized even before adding in conditioner.

Design Essentials Honey Creme Cleansing Shampoo is a non-stripping and detangling shampoo that softens and smoothes the hair cuticles. The star ingredient is the honey creme, which is said to hydrate and leave hair manageable for easy styling. There’s also a fresh and sweet fragrance that leaves the hair lightly scented without being too overpowering. Out of all the products used, the custard is my favorite. I loved the way it held my curls together and provided longevity. The collection has a healthy emphasis on detangling so the shampoo feels more like a conditioner.

The coconut milk even acts as a natural detangler. If you have naturally curly hair, you understand how exhausting wash days can be. Before you even get to actually washing your hair, you have to pre-detangle, because if you don't, your hair will get matted as soon as it makes contact with the shampoo. You then cleanse twice because the first round only breaks the surface, and there are still caked-in gels, creams, and oils leftover. Then, you apply your conditioner, let it sit for about 10 minutes, and rinse it out.

Usually when I air-dry my hair, the front has volume while the back lacks definition. I decided to attempt a partial wash and go, to see how my hair would react to being half twisted and half air dried. I sectioned off my hair and applied the custard thoroughly. I let it sit for about twenty minutes, and then I twisted my hair from the front to the middle of my head. I let the back air dry which allowed me to achieve a level of volume that I would have never had with a twist out.

Once all the conditioner is out, you detangle again. This process would take me nearly two hours, and I would still experience an immense amount of shedding. My hair would still be tangled, and once it dried, it was brittle to the touch — and even more so in the winter. The Design Essentials hair care system was launched in 1990.

It smells really good and left my hair feeling rejuvenated. I’m hella happy I got to try these products because I found a nice alternative to my Ecostyler gel and deep conditioner. That was, however, until my hairstylist introduced me to Design Essentials Honey Creme Cleansing Shampoo and Natural Almond and Avocado Leave-In Conditioner. It was the only product for over a decade that would repair and restore life to my tresses, and cut my wash and style time in half. And while I’ve since loc’d my hair, it still provides it with the added nourishment and moisture it needs — hence, I’ve added it back to my winter hair care routine. Because my hair has different textures mixed in, my curls are fluffy in some parts and flat in others.

Their products are sure to produce beautiful, healthy hairstyles rich in moisture and strong hold for lasting style. We proudly offer Design Essentials products to meet your curly hair care needs. These high-quality salon grade products come in shampoos, conditioners, leave-in treatments, styling custards, and more for complete care for your curls. Choose from a spectrum of Design Essentials products to revamp your hair care routine or just add a few tactics to tackle tough hair issues.

The extra time at home has allowed me to really pay attention to haircare regimen. It also gives me a chance to try different products to see which will give me my desired results. I was able to go 4 days strong with these curls by occasionally re-twisting the front and using the Daily Curl revitalizer in the back. We independently evaluate all recommended products and services.

We understand that there are a myriad of hair types by nature and that hair care is a very personal and emotional experience. Our brands provide you with effective, professional-quality products that you can depend on to cleanse, condition, nourish, revitalize and restore your hair to its natural beauty. The Natural Almond and Avocado Leave-In Conditioner is formulated with almond, avocado, shea butter, and coconut milk. They all work together to deliver intense moisture, soften and smooth the cuticle, offer frizz control, and strengthen the strands from within.

My favorite step, though, is the conditioner. I love that I can put it in detangle, style, and go. It doesn’t weigh my hair down and leaves a light, clean scent when brushed by a breeze. Detangling is so much easier, and I have way less shedding. The product absorbs quickly, so my hair feels soft and manageable without being left oily. It also worked miracles at soothing and healing my itchy and flaky scalp in the winter.

Baldur's Gate 3: House Of Healing & Morgue Walkthrough & Secrets

bg3 house of healing morgue

It's also possible to ascend the lift near the operating theatre, although this leads to a locked door. A Hospital Library Key can be found in a desk here, along with two locked (DC 10) gilded chests and some minor loot. Now, I walk my main in a straight line, with no saving throw checks.

Not really a hidden door from what I can see!

Handle that room, then come back to the central room and rinse-and-repeat? After you defeat them, head to the south side of the room to find double doors. The Wooden Caskets inside are empty, but the Heavy Chest, with a lockpicking DC of 14, contains the Bided Time.

Notable loot[edit edit source]

House of Healing - Morgue - Morgue is a location in Baldur's Gate 3. House of Healing - Morgue is a sub-location of Rivington Town. On this page, you can find related information about the map, quests, enemies, notable items and other useful tips about House of Healing - Morgue - Morgue. But you can also head down to the very bottom of the pit, where you can fight a Hollow Armor and three Fetid Oozes.

Baldur’s Gate 3: House of Healing Morgue Secret Door

When you first encounter the Sharr lookout in Rivington, you’re given your next instruction. Go to the House of Grief and face the consequences of your actions and try to save your parents. The Sharran Lookout is located in Rivington east near the refugees’ barn. There, you’ll find a shabby tent-like setup next to a well with a man named Ferg Drogher standing underneath it. This man is a peddler of mementos, and, believe it or not, a Sharran. Use Shadowheart to talk to him and he’ll nudge her to the Cloister of Sombre Embrace—a Sharr temple underneath the House of Grief.

How to Open the Morgue Door in the House of Healing in Baldur’s Gate 3

Exit through the double doors, and then head up the short staircase. A successful Perception check will reveal a button on the wall. Pressing it will reveal a hidden room in turn, as the wall slides away. The charred corpse to the right is carrying Firzu's Ring of Trading, while the chest ahead of you contains the Strange Tendril Amulet. When you're done, you can head up the stairs to the east to exit the morgue.

Ominous crevice[edit edit source]

It’s actually pretty obvious with how there’s an outline around it but we don’t say that out loud. Next to it is a button that you can interact or shoot a weapon or a spell at if you’re extra like me. Throw the lever down and you’ll find the door swinging open to reveal a cave. There’s not much to see in here immediately, but head down the stairs and look to the west to see a chest on a small platform. A normal jump won’t quite reach this point, so use Misty Step or Fly to get across.

After that, leave the Necrotic Laboratory and enter the door to the left of the exit. This will take you to a room with a crevice and toxic gas, another interesting secret location. There's Karabasan's Poison on the desk to your left, and a successful Perception check here will reveal a lever in between the two desks. The Tissue and Organ Register will reveal the head surgeon to be Ketheric's uncle. The shelves ahead will have a variety of potions for you to pick up.

Inside this chest, you’ll find the Fleshmelter Cloak which deals 1-4 Acid damage to any enemies that attack you with melee. It’s a nice reward and that makes exploring the Morgue in Baldur’s Gate 3 very worthwhile. That’s how you open the secret door in the House of Healing Morgue in Baldur’s Gate 3. Now go out there and get that loot inside the secret room! Make sure to go check out our guide on how to find the lock to fit the flower key if you haven’t already. He’s out here killing anyone who walks through his door, and his murder sprees are sanctioned by his dear nephew, Ketheric Thorm.

What you really need to do is enter the locked room that’s located on the far western side of the Morgue. This is a DC 18 lock which makes it much easier to open than the metal door. Inside you’ll see a ghastly room full of alchemical bottles and human remains.

Finally, there's a trapped Opulent Chest in the northwest corner of the room. Both its disarming and lockpicking DCs are 14, and it contains the Eversight Ring. The lever will now throw the door open, revealing a stinking cave full of corpses. You’ll note that the lever beside the locked door isn’t working.

Prepare accordingly and then surprise them and enter a combat engagement against thirteen Enemies in total, led by a Cursed Kuo-Toa Chief. The minor Enemies won't really be too hard to take down with their small health pools, but the Chief will have a health pool closer to your party's. Take care of the little ones as quickly as you can so you can begin focusing on their leader. After defeating them, loot as much as necessary before you move on. There's a Wooden Chest inside the hut with a substantial amount of gold.

That’s because the door has a saving throw of 30, which is likely out of reach for most players when they encounter it. But there are better options, and you don’t have to go that far to get to them. To the Left is a small room with a dead Harper with the Necrotic Laboratory Spare Key and a locked chest containing Bided Time. Reading Olam's Journal completes the Inspirational Event Blessed's Final Rest (Acolyte background) and Snuffed Spark (Sage background). Reading the Surgeon's Research Notes completes the Inspirational Event Hippocratic No More (Sage background).

But go into the research lab at the end of the hall, and you’ll find a lever. To get rid of it, interact with the 2 Went on the floor to pass the skill check and open them. When going around the many places in the game, you might find yourself in the House of Healing Morgue. This place is a bit tricky to get to with all the hazards, but once you get here there are more secrets you can find, including a secret door. Keep your eyes on the lever to the left of the middle table.

This lookout is incredibly unassuming, and you’ll probably walk right past it if you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for. When you arrive at the House of Healing in Baldur’s Gate 3, you must pass a dialogue check to enter, but once inside, you can stroll around freely. What you can do here is, as previously said, obtain the Lute required to awaken Art Cullagh in the Last Light Inn. To do so, you must proceed to the operating room and meet Malus Thorm, the head honcho of the House of Healing. BG3 includes multiple exceptionally well-hidden elements and passageways that you can use to obtain additional goodies.
